RMSE / Root mean squared error

RMSE means Root mean squared error and is an addition to the most commonly used loss function for regression, Mean squared error.

The RMSE-metric displays a graph similar to the MSE – but here, the data is squeezed through a calculation of the root.

When to use RMSE

The RMSE metric is useful when large error occurs. It softens big values meanwhile smaller values are not affected as much, due to the square-function.
