Founded in Stockholm, Sweden in 2004, over 300 companies and organizations have used Peltarion’s AI technology including NASA, Tesla, iZettle, General Electric, Dell, BMW, Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, and the Universities of Harvard, MIT and Oxford. Our mission is to make AI technology useable and affordable for all.

05/ History of Peltarion

Peltarion was founded in 2004 by Luka Crnkovic-Friis and Måns Erlandson who met whilst studying at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. They were both convinced that AI had the potential to redefine the definition of the industrial revolution. In 2006 they launched their first product called Synapse which was a Windows-based tool to help organisations design and train neural networks and was sold on a licensing model. In 2016 Luka and Måns started to build the world’s first operational AI platform which was launched in 2018.

To date Peltarion has received financing worth €14 million from EQT Ventures and FAM, the holding company privately owned by the three largest Wallenberg foundations.

Peltarion has 55 members of staff across four offices in Stockholm, London, Oslo and Barcelona.

Peltarion is a founding member of the Swedish AI Council.

Jonas Persson (Chairman of the Board), former CEO of Microsoft Sweden. Jonas is currently Chairman of the Board of Sitecore, IFS and StormGeo, and is an Industrial Advisor to EQT Partners.

Patrick Söderlund,  Chief Design Officer and Executive Vice President at Electronic Arts. Previous to his career at Electronic Arts Patrick was a tech entrepreneur and founded Refraction Games, the studio that founded the Battlefield series, which was later acquired by DICE. As its CEO, Patrick transformed DICE from a small team to one of the most successful game developers in the world.

Hjalmar Winbladh, founding partner of EQT Ventures. Founder of SendIt, one of world’s first developers of mobile internet technology including world’s first clouded mobile mail service, Rebtel (a leading independent mobile voice over IP company), Epidemic Sound, Sinch and Wrapp. He is also Chairman of the Board at Sportradar.

Jan Bosch, Professor of Software Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology and Partner of Boschonian, a consulting company advising companies on the implications of digitalization including the management of R&D and innovation. Jan is currently Chairman of the Board of Fidesmo and, until recently, Remente. He serves on the advisory board of the US-based company Assia Inc. and the Swedish company Burt AB.
