Once you’ve got a trained model, there’s even more work to do. Data scientists and AI experts are great at math, but as a rule not so focused on creating structured and orderly code for production.
At this stage, a data engineer will take over and try to rewrite the data scientist’s spaghetti code into production-grade code. This almost never works, as the data engineers don’t understand the math behind the model, and tend to optimize away very important functions. Frustrations build, and so does a massive software stack in order to create complex live production environments.
